Volunteers will support the smooth operation of the Stronger Together Health Fair, hosted in partnership with BrightStone and Special Olympics Tennessee. This inclusive event features free health screenings, adaptive sports opportunities, and valuable resources for individuals of all abilities.

Volunteer roles include event setup, assisting with participant check-in, and helping with various support tasks throughout the day. No prior experience is needed, training will be provided on-site.

Fit Feet are licensed and student Podiatrist and Physical Therapist volunteers will assist in evaluate ankles, feet, lower extremity biomechanics, and proper shoe and sock gear. Fit Feet helps Special Olympics athletes step lively on the playing field, and in everyday life. Many athletes suffer from foot and ankle pain, or deformities that impair their performance.

Health Promotion are Nurse, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physician assistant, Medical Physician, and Exercise Science medical student or licensed professional volunteers will assist in collecting health biometrics such as blood pressure (BP), height, weight, calculated BMI, and healthy lifestyle surveys, in addition to, nutrition and fitness education.

Healthy Hearing is led by a group of volunteer licensed and medical Audiology students, SLP, and ENT professional volunteers will assist in comprehensive hearing screenings for those participating Stronger Together. This screening provides comprehensive hearing screenings and follow-up recommendations. The main goals of this program are to inform athletes, parents, coaches or caregivers about the detection of possible ear and hearing problems, recommend follow-up as needed, and to promote the necessity of regular ear and hearing screenings.

MedFest Healthy Athletes is led by a group of volunteer physicians, nurses, physician assistants, and/or medical students. The MedFest screening consists of the following stations: medical history, height and weight, blood pressure, cardiology test, musculoskeletal test, orthopedic tests, abdominal evaluation, and a check out station.

Special Smiles are dental practitioners and student volunteers provide comprehensive oral health care information, including free dental screenings and instructions on correct brushing and flossing techniques to participating in Stronger Together.
